-- Despite a global drop, Swedish truck maker Scania increased its European market share during the first quarter of 2015 on the back of a 46 per cent increase in order bookings... Demand for Scania trucks in Europe rose from 8,500 to 12,446 in the first three months of 2015 versus the same period in 2014, taking the manufacturers’ market share to 17.2 per cent... Announcing the rise in a statement overnight, Scania’s president and CEO Martin Lundstedt, says the positive results stemmed from its updated range of Euro 6 compliant engines...

* Scania to provide engines for some Oshkosh trucks
-- European truck and engine maker Scania has entered into a partnership with U.S.A.-based specialty truck maker Oshkosh Corp., in which Scania will deliver low-emission engines for airport product vehicles produced by Oshkosh... The partnership will cover a range of products to be launched worldwide, and as it progresses, Oshkosh will launch further vehicles based on Scania products, Scania parent company Volkswagen AG said April 17... Scania will begin by delivering industrial engines that meet Europe’s Stage IV and Tier 4 final standards without the use of particulate filters as well as engines that meet less strict emissions levels... Separately, Oshkosh is scheduled to launch a new firefighting vehicle — based on a Scania chassis — in Germany in June, VW said...
