Audi and Volkswagen showed the first concept for the annual festival of VAG in Austria

Company Volkswagen and Audi presented two concept cars, which will premiere at the annual festival production cars VAG. The event will still take place not far from the Austrian lake Wörthersee in the period from 13 to 16 May.

A novelty from Audi will be the conceptual version of the coupe TT, which received the designation Clubsport Turbo. The sports car is equipped with a massive aerodynamic, five-cylinder 2.5-liter engine with 600 hp (650 Nm), a six-speed “mechanics” and the all-wheel drive Quattro. A distinctive feature of the machine – and the series offer the electric blower, works at low speeds. Weighing 1396 kg car can accelerate to “hundreds” of 3.6 seconds. Maximum speed is 310 km / h.

The company argued that the application of an electric blower (under a “sharpened” the 48-volt on-board network) enable the compartment to cover the distance in the first 16 meters during acceleration in 2.5 seconds, while comparable in performance car without electric compressor during this time will pass only 10 meters. Note that Audi is planning to equip their machines innovative supercharger in the short term.

The concept of Volkswagen revealed only in the form of design sketches. According to available information, a prototype called the Golf GTI Clubsport is an improved version of the series Golf GTI. In contrast to the concept of the Audi, which only serves to demonstrate the technology, the project Volkswagen has a chance to appear in the series and take a position in the line of the brand one step below the Golf R.

The front is equipped with two-liter turbo engine hatchback, the impact of which is increased to 265 hp – 35 hp larger than the standard GTI, and exactly the same number of smaller Golf R. The car will have a unique aerodynamic body kit, as well as the function of a temporary increase in boost pressure and a limited slip differential.

According to German media, VW GTI Clubsport will launch in 2016 as a limited edition, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the Golf GTI.
